We spend minimally (less than 5%) on operations and run almost entirely on professionals who volunteer their time.

Our donors tell us their priorities (e.g. education, affordable housing, mental health, the arts, etc.) and we find local community organizational partners who can make use of the property and help foster the relationship.

Support Our Mission
At the Canadian Communities Land Trust (CCLT), we strive to operate an efficient and impactful land trust. However, securing and preserving land comes with associated costs.
While some properties are generously donated, many are offered to CCLT and our charitable partners at a reduced purchase price. To facilitate these acquisitions, we rely on financial support to cover essential expenses, including:
Government fees related to land transfers (when waivers or reductions are not available)
Legal costs associated with property transactions
Title insurance to protect acquired properties
Your support plays a crucial role in our ability to secure and protect land for community benefit.
